  1. Not sure why I feel the need to tell you this but I am sharing a story from my life. 21 yrs ago, I went into preterm labor with my daughter. I was 21 at the time, had a 9 month old son at home, and was scared to death. The doctors were not able to stop my labor and since I was only 6 1/2 months along, they sat down and told me what to expect on the off chance my baby lived. They talked about brain damage, CF, lung failure and that she would be deaf. I remember clearly only HEARING the word DEAF and beginning to cry. I could not imagine anything worse for a child than to not hear their mothers voice. My daughter died a few seconds after her birth but I was able to hold her close to me and I whispered in her ears how much I loved her, tell her what a gift from God she was even if just for that 6 months she was inside of me... I knew that she heard me, as a mother, I just knew. So thank you Susana, thank you for showing me that life can be beautiful even if we do not all hear the same way. God bless you~
